I believe ...

I believe, first and foremost, that we are all entitled to our own opinions! I don't have to agree with what you're saying but who am I to say who is "right" and who is "wrong"!??? With this in mind - let's see if I can organize some of my own opinions and beliefs.

Someone help me ... am I liberal or conservative??? What is left wing and right wing??? Politics is not my game, yet! I say yet because I have so many opinions and I want them heard. I want to learn politics but haven't found the appropriate setting, time, or individual. So, here is the amatuer approach.

Gay and Lesbian rights - YES ... Welfare Reform - YES ... Cut Government Spending - YES ... Social Security Reform - YES ... Nosey reporters worrying about who politicians are or are not sleeping with - NO (what happens in a bedroom is none of their business)... Education Reform - DEFINITELY. Is this helping any??? Government telling me I have to wear a sealbelt - NO ... (I wear one anyway but it isn't their place to make me) Capitol Punishment - MAYBE (get back with me on that one) ...

I hope that none of these ideas are altogether that radical. I don't spand that much time talking about religion with others in order to compare notes. But, I have a severe dislike for organized religion. Which doesn't mean I'm not spiritual ... I just think the concept of religion is just someone RULES for practicing their spirituality. Who's to say what is "right" and what is "wrong" in spirit?

Isn't this fun? Talking about all of the taboo subjects. Now, this is my FAVORITE subject!!! Although, a little less talk and a lot more action would probably be more appropriate here. I have such a stange focus on sex that I have often thought about becoming a sex therapist. Then it would be socially exceptable for me to talk about it all of the time. As for now, people just look at me strange. But, I'm okay with that.

I used to think I would wait until I was married and then give myself to my husband. HA! That seems like such a long nieve time ago. My views of sex and marriage are so SO different now. Now, I believe I would just live with someone ... I mean, why get married? There is nothing that getting married will do for you ... except get you into a legal binde. And "binde" usually means restricted or tied as in "tied down" ... that is not at all what I am looking for right now. I'm sure this is just some post marriage opinion that will change with time. But, as for now, I'm not interested.

I am pretty satisfied with the quality of the education I recieved. Looking back now, though, I realize what I could have had is so much more. I feel that our educational system merely teaches our children to recite. Memorize these date and get a passing grade. Remeber the notes written on the board and pass the test. How rare was it that the teacher proposed an essay test ... oh NO, you mean actually THINK!!!!! AAAaaaahhhhh!!! See, they spend such a great deal of time telling you what you're supposed to know ... and such a little amount of time or effort into making sure you understand and can reason - or think.
